I grew up on a farm. Out in a field. With trees and a lake behind my house.

We had dogs. guinea pigs. a rat. fish. goats. cats.

I AM a farm girl at heart.

When I moved to Australia I missed ‘home’. Where wide open space trumps the city.

Where air smells fresh, unpolluted and flavoured by the surrounding season of the plants.

Where colours are a bit more vivid and go noticed.

Where the lives of those working hard are displayed.

Through dirty angles.

Where the world seems a bit more open.

Mish’s photo: We climbed this little ridge behind the Bakhita were I was staying in Timor. I have to say that this cross is probably one of the most beautiful things that I’ve seen. Every morning I’d wake up and get to see the beauty of the cross w/ the rising sun. However, for me this symbolises the growth that I have gone through. Become more intune with my soul, spirit, strength and become strong in who I am w/ my faith.

Mishs photo: E made these amazing cards for me the other day. It’s a Father’s Day Card for my dad. I love her ability and creativity to make things which fit so perfect for people she’s never met before.

Es photo: A co-worker came in today with this pretty thing. It’s actually an egg crate. And she brought it in wondering if anyone would want it instead of throwing it away. Being the junk collector, of course, I asked for it even though I haven’t the faintest idea what I can do with it. So, get your
creativity working and tell me what it can be used for!

Es photo: I’m back after a 2-weeks vacation, so you can expect a more regular posting from me again. Here’s a photo I took at a church retreat we attended during our vacation. Baby Declan is on stage waiting his turn at the baby dedication. I guess there’s nothing more beautiful than that of a relationship between a child and his parents.

Mishs photo: I bought this as a present to myself while driving a bus full of study abroad students. I love soaps, especially ones which are made by people right in front of you. It’s awesome smelling as well.

Mishs Photo: These things bring peace to my stomach. Without them I am in much pain, exhausted, and pretty much miserable. Celery, carrots and oranges..Thank you!

Mishs photo: My broccoli has some sort of yellow growth on it. Perhaps I shouldn’t eat it.

Mishs photo: I had one of the students create a salad for me while I was making four pans of Macaroni and Cheese. The creativity she has when it comes to making salads is impressive. I acutally forgot to give her the cheese and she goes ‘I need to take of the tomatos and put the tomatos under the cheese’. Hilarious.

Mishs photo: This is a group of the American students which I watch over. The beauty of having them for the semester is watching them grow. Man it’s been a good semester. They’re leaving on Saturday week.
